The Community Professionals Guild

Community Professionals in the gaming industry can feel like we don't know exactly where we belong. We often work between departments but never belong to any particular team. There has been little research done on our jobs, what they entail, how much we are paid, on average and not much is out there in the way of training for us.

The Community Professionals Guild is for anyone that is or has ever been a full-time, paid professional community representative in the game industry. It has been founded to offer a means of support and training for the Community Professional in the game industry.

If you are interested in joining, please send an email with your name, the company for which you work(ed) and a brief history of your experience as a community professional. Please be sure to include any online names by which you have been known.

Please note that while volunteer community managers and representatives have similar issues and needs, this guild was formed to specifically serve professionals within the online game industry. If you are a volunteer or your employment has not been directly with a game company, please consider visiting our Community Relations Forum and becoming part of that community. While the Community Professionals Guild is geared for the specific needs of the game industry employee, much of what I plan to provide to them will be available there to the public as well.
